"I beseech you therefore, brethren,...do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." - Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
About the Site
The Holy Spirit's Gift is a site dedicated to a study of the Bible with emphasis upon an understanding of, and a conforming to New Testament Christianity.
"Gift," as used in the name of the website, is an acronym for the Gospel Is For Transformation. In a very real sense the Holy Spirit's gospel is for transformation.
The purpose of the gospel of Christ as revealed by the Holy Spirit is for the transformation of man from sinner to saint by the renewing of one's mind, thus proving or testing God's desired intention for all of mankind. (Romans 12:1-2 NKJV)
Inspired of the Holy Spirit, the apostle Peter wrote, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9 NKJV)
Understand, though it is God's will that none perish, man being created in the likeness of God and having a free will of his own, will determine whether he perishes or not.
With this concept in mind, a concentrated study entitled The Gift, is given to the person and work of the Holy Spirit in the salvation, conversion and sanctification processes of one who obeys the gospel of Christ.
About the Saint
It may seem at first to be overly presumptuous, pretentious or arrogant to refer to one's self as a "saint." After all, a Christian is to be humble and is not to think more highly of himself as he ought to think. (Romans 12:3)
However, if one considers such a description of self from a biblical perspective, then that is exactly what God Himself refers to a Christian in the New Testament.
Paul wrote by inspiration of the Holy Spirit to the Christians, those "called of Jesus Christ" at Rome, "To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints." (Romans 1:6-7 NKJV)
The word saint (Gr. hagios), means to be set apart, separate, holy. One who has become a Christian is called to be set apart for service unto God.
Additional Scriptures provided to validate this point:
1 Corinthians 1:2; 16:1; 2 Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 1:1; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:2; Philemon 1:5; Jude 3
So understand, if you are a Christian, you too are a saint by definition according to God's word.
